Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector to join our Technical Inspection Services team in Houston, TX.

About the role

As a Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector, you will conduct inspection activities in pipe mills, coating mills, and loading/unloading/stockpile locations in accordance with client, Intertek, and industry procedures and specifications. This role supports clients in oil & gas, renewable energy, engineering, chemical, and transportation sectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities using tools necessary for accurate measurement and determination of compliance to specifications.
• Provide daily inspection results to the Lead Inspector or Project Coordinator, preparing and issuing inspection reports as required.
• Witness testing and monitor project activities.
• Witness/verify pipe loadout onto trucks, railcars, barges, or ocean vessels in accordance with specifications and industry standards.

Requirements

• At least five (5) years’ experience with pipe-related quality assurance systems (preferred).
• Ability to interpret and understand national codes, standards, specifications, drawings, and data sheets related to multi-discipline construction and/or pipe projects.
• High school diploma/GED or higher education.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet communication systems.
• Ability to work well with others and detail-oriented.

Schedule

Anticipated project duration: 2 weeks starting in September, with an additional project in Baytown, TX in October.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $25/HR.
