Responsibilities
- Organizes everything in advance and during service to make the kitchen hum
- Chops, breaks down, cuts, weighs, mixes, washes, stores, unloads, prepares menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentation
- Rotates products and stocks to par level to ensure the kitchen is not disrupted
- Completes assigned prep work, stocks and sets up stations as necessary
- Transports items to and from kitchen, helps vendors unload delivery trucks
- Cleans and maintains kitchen area throughout shift
- Breaks down and cleans all stations at closing
- Works flexible shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physically stands/walks 100% of shift, reaches, bends, stoops
- Speaks, reads, and writes English, reads recipes and food labels, reads POS ticket orders, communicates ticket times, executes food flow from kitchen to guests, reports potential issues to Manager on duty
- Safely uses kitchen machinery (Open Flame Grill, Stove, Slicer, etc), holds items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods of time, lifts up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lifts these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
- Works in high temperature, damp environment indoors and minimally outdoors
- Assists fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning, as needed
- Completes and passes food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
Qualifications
- Able to work five (5) day work week with two (2) consecutive days off
- Paid vacation after one year of employment, two weeks after two years, three weeks after ten years
- Christmas bonus after one year of employment (equal to one week pay)
