Pilot Plant Operator – Polymerisatie en Blowfilm (40 uur/ week - Dagdienst)

About the role

The role involves operating the Polymerization and Blow Film Pilot Plant at Brightlands Chemelot Campus. You will be responsible for conducting polymerization and blow film experiments for clients, ensuring the timely operation of the installations, managing inventory, following client specifications, reporting results, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute polyester and polyamide polymerizations in the Pilot Plant during client trials.
• Ensure timely operation of the installation, manage raw material inventory, and follow client specifications; report results.
• Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure timely operation of the installation and optimize cooperation between BCS and its clients.
• Take over basic tasks in the purification installation when the CGZ operator is absent to ensure continuous and safe delivery of purified raw materials to the Pilot Plants and Labs on the Campus.
• Ensure that assigned installations operate correctly and safely and that all (repair) work meets relevant requirements, regulations, and SHE aspects.
• Order necessary raw materials, services, and components within specified conditions during trial programs; document and report technical information and results to the client.
• Create checklists for stable and reproducible test runs; conduct inspections and preventive maintenance in consultation with the Engineer.
• Handle various types of chemical waste.
• Ensure the daily, safe operation of the CGZ installation when the operator is absent, so clients receive the correct amount and quality of purified raw materials on time.

Requirements

• A minimum of an AB/BC degree in VAPRO;
• At least 5 years of experience as a process operator in independently operated chemical installations;
• An affinity with process control and mechanical work;
• Customer and service-oriented;
• Hold a VCA-VOL certificate;
• Capable of working independently in a complex technical environment;
• Good command of both Dutch and English (written and spoken).
