About the role

We are seeking experienced Pile Drivers in the following areas: Hopewell, VA and Baltimore, MD. This role involves operating pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as bridges and piers.

Responsibilities

• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.
• Drive pilings to provide support for structures such as bridges, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head.
• Move hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings.
• Move levers and turn valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive pile to required depths.

Requirements

• Experience in marine pile driving operations including Concrete pile, H-pile, and Pipe pile.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, read rules, and calculate measurements.
• Ability to apply concepts of geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
• Frequently required to walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly work or walk on uneven ground.
• Must occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Noise level in the work environment is very loud.

Pay

Expected base hourly range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00. This range is specific to the job level and considers factors such as education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range does not include potential incentive pay or benefits, which will be provided separately when appropriate.
