Pile Driver

About the role

The Structures Division of the H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Pile Driver to install foundation piles, lagging, walers, and braces for excavation support in heavy civil and highway construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Drives pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures
• Confer with Pile Driving Foreman on job specifications
• Read and interpret load charts
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed
• Perform daily inspections on equipment, clean, and perform minor maintenance, report malfunctions
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Working knowledge and ability to safely understand and direct crane set up and lifting plans
• Experience and working knowledge of rigging
• Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
• Ability to operate surveying instruments, shoot elevations and straight lines
• Experience with pile driving and drilling equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving ability
• Ability to travel as required for projects
• Able to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Able to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED)
• 2 years of relevant experience and/or training
• Experience operating heavy equipment used in highway construction
• Specific crane and pile-driving equipment experience strongly preferred
• OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
