About the role

The Pilates Instructor provides safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 450-hour comprehensive Pilates education (Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard required)
  • Up-to-date CPR & First Aid training and willingness to maintain certification
  • Comfortable learning and adding TRX, Functional Standing Movement (Barre), TriggerPoint modalities, and Circuit Training Classes to repertoire
  • Demonstrated anatomical knowledge and attention to safety
  • Experience teaching group reformer classes with ability to modify for individuals (6–12 participants)
  • Minimum 6 hours (2 shifts) of open availability per week
  • Passion for learning and completing continued education trainings or workshops
  • Team player with an enthusiastic attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Professional and effective communication with strong public speaking skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to recognize areas of improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent use of excellent judgment
  • Ability to work harmoniously with the public, management, and other instructors
  • Professional, neat, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in (or ability to learn) ClubReady software for basic use

Responsibilities

  • Provide Pilates instruction (intro classes, group apparatus classes, private and semi-private training) as scheduled by management
  • Ensure proper and safe use of equipment (e.g., hand weights, Chair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle) during classes
  • Inspect equipment before each class to confirm it is in good working order and safe to use
  • Maintain studio tidiness and return equipment to standards set by studio management
  • Arrive early to greet and assist with check-in for classes or private/semi-private sessions
  • Participate in networking/community events to help generate new business
  • Attend 2–3 workshops per year at the studio for membership retention and engagement
  • Stay up-to-date with and implement Club Pilates education standards
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, work with fingers, grasp, feel, talk, and hear
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. and move/push equipment as needed
  • Visual acuity required
  • Prolonged standing
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate in one-on-one and group settings
  • Ability to process information quickly, clearly, and accurately under pressure
  • Strong reasoning ability to apply common sense and follow detailed instructions

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is not exposed to adverse or inclement conditions.

Pay

Base hourly pay + class pay + bonus pay.
