Position Summary

The Cycling Group Exercise Instructor reports to the Fitness Director or other assigned associate and is responsible for delivering high-quality, appropriately challenging, and fun group exercise classes. The primary function includes engaging with members, guests, and program participants, promoting wellness, maintaining equipment, and adhering to policies and best practices.

Essential Functions

  • Reports to work in uniform 15 minutes before shift to receive communications and prepare space.
  • Provides excellent services to members, guests, and program participants through positive and solution-driven interaction.
  • Maintains group exercise certifications and continuous education on formats.
  • Monitors, cleans, and inspects equipment regularly; reports any challenges or concerns.
  • Adheres to class style, format, and certification requirements while teaching.
  • Encourages members to meet their wellness goals and promotes a professional image.
  • Attends and participates in all meetings as assigned.
  • Communicates the Y mission and objectives to the community.
  • Assists in all other areas as assigned.

  • Yoga: Yoga Alliance, FitTour, YogaFit, PiYo, NETA 200hr
  • BODYCOMBAT: Les Mills
  • BODYPUMP: Les Mills
  • Zumba
  • Cycling: Maddog, Keiser, AFPA, Reebok, Les Mills SPRINT
  • Pilates: Peak Pilates, Stott Pilates, Pilates Method Alliance
  • Barre: SoulBodyBarre, Balletone
  • Waterfitness: AEA Aqua Fitness Professional, AAAI/ISMA Aqua Instructor
