Serving a full menu of thoughtfully prepared, crowd-pleasing dishes alongside a strong beverage offering, it is designed to support the pace and energy of a full day over the water. Set directly on the Newport Fishing Pier with unobstructed water views, Pier Restaurant blends high-volume service with a clear point of view, delivering food and drinks that feel elevated, consistent, and easy to enjoy in a relaxed, waterfront setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all front-of-house operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving financial performance, and upholding service and brand standards.
- Lead and develop the team, working closely with culinary leadership to ensure high-quality execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and genuine hospitality.
- Play a key role in shaping the experience at Pier Restaurant and driving the success of The Sunny's pier food and beverage program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of food and beverage management experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-volume environment.
- Full P&L management experience with strong financial acumen and the ability to manage labor, control costs, and drive profitability.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests and team members.
- Professional, guest-facing presence with a confident and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with scheduling, payroll, and labor management systems.
- Experience with TOAST POS system.
- Current ServSafe certification preferred.
- TIPS or CARE certification required or ability to obtain.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
