Pick Up Stix Wok Cook

Position Overview

The Wok Cook is a non-tip position responsible for wok-cooked items preparation and supporting the team environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in maintaining high standards of store operations
• Maintain positive and open communication with the FOH/BOH staff
• Perform Kitchen Helper, Oil Cook Food Coordinator, Cook duties as needed
• Aid in the maintenance of proper Company and government required documents on staff
• Support operations by performing any other duty as assigned

Standards

• Complete daily administrative tasks (reports and banking)
• Estimate food and beverage costs, maintain correct inventories (par levels)
• Assist in special promotions, as needed
• Control food costs, and kitchen labor
• Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing and wok-cooking all specified menu items
• Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
• Perform basic math and measurement calculations associated with recipes
• Operate kitchen equipment, handle knives, and wear a cut glove when doing so regardless of knife size
• Demonstrate familiarity and knowledge of cooking with wok, including ensuring food handling and safety policies are adhered to at all times

Sales

• Address Guest complaints
• Resolve problems
• Plan or participate in preparing and apportioning foods, utilizing food surpluses, and leftovers

Quality

• Ensure food and product quality to Pick Up Stix operational standards
• Maintain quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product
• Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
• Follow excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with Board of Health standards
• Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product; receive, move, and lift food and beverage products and supplies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid SNHD Food Handler's Card (NV Health Card)
• Pass background investigation, pre-employment personality screening, and drug testing
• Must have 1-2 years of Chinese cooking experience
• Must have worked as a Pick Up Stix Cook
• Ability to train, develop, and motivate all staff
• Must pass all required tests for this position
• Must be at least 18 years of age

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moderate heat. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
