PIC Pharmacist

Guardian Pharmacy of the Piedmont, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is seeking a motivated individual to join our rapidly growing team in Charlotte, North Carolina. We deliver customized medication management solutions to support healthcare organizations serving seniors and individuals with complex care needs through a comprehensive suite of tech-enabled pharmacy services.

About the role

This position ensures the smooth and efficient operation of daily medication dispensing, IV preparation, and compounding functions. You will actively communicate with the Director of Pharmacy Operations to resolve production-related issues, maintain compliance with all State and Federal laws, and oversee controlled substances in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Staff Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, managing daily production to meet delivery schedules.
• Ensure workflow processes and staffing support accurate and timely prescription dispensing.
• Perform Staff Pharmacist duties, working on the floor among staff at least 75% of the time.
• Communicate daily with the Director of Pharmacy Operations regarding production, safety, or compliance issues.
• Ensure pharmacy processes and record-keeping comply with all state and federal laws and regulations.
• Train newly hired Pharmacists and assist with staffing/scheduling to ensure licensed coverage as required by the Board of Pharmacy.
• Oversee CII ordering, inventory control, and dispensing to maintain proper record-keeping within State and Federal regulations.
• Maintain 797-Compliance program, including training, documentation, and program revisions.
• Evaluate and implement workflow changes to improve efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with pharmacy student evaluations, assignments, and daily duties.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and functional areas to maintain smooth workflows.
• Perform occasional customer relations duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Active State Pharmacist License without restrictions.
• 5+ years of pharmacist experience preferred, ideally in a high-volume pharmacy.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems with minimal direction.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of pharmacy operations systems.

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week.
• Every 7th–8th weekend required.
• 24/7 on-call availability for urgent pharmacy matters.
