About the role
This position involves leading music and other arts programs within the corps, planning and attending recitals, and assisting with summer camps.
Responsibilities
- Lead music and other arts programs as assigned within the corps.
- Plan and implement weekly music lessons using appropriate curriculum.
- Prepare music programs for the annual corps concert.
- Encourage participants to achieve goals and enhance their self-esteem.
- Support participants in discovering and developing their musical talents.
- Ensure music performances and activities contribute positively to the community.
- Help plan summer camps and day camps for campers.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
- Experience: At least two years of music experience working with children and adults.
- Performance experience is preferred.

- Demonstrated proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Working Conditions
The work environment includes a program setting with moderate to high noise levels. Employees must possess a valid driver's license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program.
Physical Requirements
The position requires periodic light physical work to perform essential functions, frequent use of standard office equipment, and occasional driving for Salvation Army business.
Supervisory Responsibility
No supervisory responsibility is required for this position.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required for summer camps and other events.
