Piano Accompanist (Part-time, Temporary)

Responsibilities

• Provides piano accompaniment for choral group rehearsals and concerts
• Led warm-ups for singers and vocal ensemble rehearsals
• Plays vocal parts – independent and mixed
• Works a flexible schedule regularly during the academic term for rehearsals, concerts, recitals, etc.
• Uses computer skills necessary to the performance of the job (Microsoft Office, Internet knowledge, and email)

Requirements

• Demonstrates good management and care of college and departmental resources
• Reads music
• Has demonstrated strong sight reading and ability to learn music quickly
• Has demonstrated strong organizational skills
• Displays resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
• Demonstrates proficiency in both written and oral communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, Piano Performance, Accompanying, or Chamber Music
• Two years of experience playing the piano as an accompanist
