Pianist

Job Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality live music for events, ceremonies, or regular services.
• Enhances the atmosphere and experience for attendees.
• Performs live piano music during events such as weddings, funerals, receptions, services, or corporate functions.
• Selects and prepares appropriate music based on the client’s or event coordinator’s requests.
• Rehearses with vocalists, instrumentalists, or choirs if accompaniment is required.
• Arrives early to set up, tune, and prepare the instrument as needed.
• Adjusts performance based on the tone, pace, and flow of the event.
• Handles music transitions smoothly and discreetly during ceremonies or services.
• Maintains a professional presence and engages respectfully with guests, clients, and staff.
• Packs up and cares for any personal instruments or equipment used.

Qualifications

• Proven performance experience in live settings (weddings, religious services, concerts, etc.).
• Proficient in reading sheet music and/or playing by ear.
• Strong repertoire across classical, jazz, pop, or liturgical music (depending on event type).
• Ability to accompany singers or other instrumentalists as needed.
• Excellent timing, expression, and technical ability.
