Principal Accountabilities
- Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
- Educate students on the curriculum effectively and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments as needed.
- Manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Instruct students clearly on learning goals and use appropriate techniques.
- Increase student learning and confidence through innovative approaches and technology.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning.
- Collaborate with Special Education and English Language Learner specialists to meet the specific needs of particular students.
- Prepare students for MCAS.
- Understand the High School philosophy and structure of High School teams.
- Maintain data and documentation as appropriate.
- Participate in school-wide professional development and seek continual feedback and coaching.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Physics; Valid Massachusetts SEI Endorsement OR Grade-level appropriate ESL License; Meet all state and federal guidelines for full licensure and being Highly Qualified.
- Experience: Experience in urban, high-poverty, and/or turnaround schools; Major/minor in specific teaching content area; Additional certification in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities and/or English Language Learners (ESL); Demonstrated experience in English Language Development (ELD) and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) strategies; Bilingual language proficiency (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
