About the Role
Join a Radiation Oncology team as a Certified Medical Physicist, responsible for designing, optimizing, and evaluating advanced radiation treatment plans to ensure accuracy, safety, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate radiation therapy equipment in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform quality control and oversee brachytherapy procedures in collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer.
- Provide clinical radiation therapy physics services, assist in treatment planning, and support new technology implementation.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure treatment accuracy and safety, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Support regulatory compliance, safety standards, and staff training; may serve as Radiation Safety Officer.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Health or Medical Physics; certification by ABR, AAPM, or equivalent.
- Licensure as required; preferred knowledge of oncology information systems and programming skills.
- Clinical experience, including residency, and DABR certification preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, radiation safety, and dosimetry skills.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to operate complex equipment and assist with patient transfers.
- Effective verbal communication and manual dexterity.
- Ability to navigate busy clinical environments and handle physical tasks.
