About the role
The Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Health System is seeking outstanding medical physicists to join our faculty at the Clinical Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level. This position offers the unique opportunity to practice in either an academic or community setting, depending on the candidate’s interests and experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement radiation therapy plans
- Contribute to research projects related to radiation oncology
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to medical physics residents and fellows
- Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Assist in the development and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment and systems
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or a related field
- CAMPEP-accredited residency program in medical physics
- Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics
Qualifications
- Experience with radiation therapy techniques and technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Knowledge of radiation therapy principles and techniques
- Proficiency in radiation therapy software and equipment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
