About the Role

Texas Oncology is seeking a full-time Clinical Medical Physicist to join a group of five radiation oncology centers located in the Denton, TX clinic at 2600 Scripture Rd, Denton, Texas 76201. The candidate will primarily work at the Denton site and provide support to other North Dallas POD sites as needed.

Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, with approximately 600+ providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Facilities and Equipment

While operationally independent day-to-day, each center collaborates as part of five fully staffed Texas Oncology clinics in the North Dallas area (McKinney, Plano West, Denison, Denton, and Flower Mound). The centers share a common single database for record and verify, Eclipse treatment planning (conventional and SRS/SBRT), Rad Calc 2nd check program, Profiler, MapCheck3, SNC Routine, and a 3D scanning system.

Equipment includes six Varian linacs, two Nucletron microSelectron HDRs, three Nucletron Flexitron HDRs, three GE CTs, two PET/CTs, and two mobile PET/CTs, treating an average of 160-170 patients daily across the five sites. The network is in the midst of upgrading treatment and imaging equipment.

The Team

The fully staffed region consists of five board-certified radiation oncologists, eight physicists (seven ABR-certified and one non-certified), seven certified medical dosimetrists and one non-certified dosimetrist, thirteen radiation therapists, and five chief therapists. As part of Texas Oncology, you will collaborate with other network physicists, participate in vendor webinars, journal clubs, and have opportunities to serve on committees.

Responsibilities

  • Support clinical operations at the Denton clinic and other POD sites as needed.
  • Perform treatment planning using Eclipse and Oncentra systems.
  • Manage HDR planning and treatment procedures.
  • Oversee SBRT and SRS procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • CAMPEP-accredited residency program in Medical Physics.
  • Valid Texas Medical Board license or board eligibility.
  • American Board of Radiology certification or board eligibility.
  • Preferred two years of experience as a certified medical physicist.
  • Working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR.
  • Experience with Varian linear accelerators, Eclipse, and Oncentra planning systems.
  • Strong organization and oral/written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Eclipse and Oncentra treatment planning systems.
  • HDR planning and treatment.
  • ARIA Record and Verify System (R&V).
  • SBRT and SRS procedures.

Location
