Physicians Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery PA
About the role
The Physician Assistant will perform tasks and procedures delegated by the referring Physician within their scope of practice; perform complete, detailed, and accurate histories; review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports. This individual will perform physical examinations, interact, and counsel patients for symptom management, advanced care planning purposes, and the determination of patient goals. The PA will institute therapy, including drug therapies. The PA will accept and perform hospital consults and rounds, and provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care and management of stable and chronic illnesses under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attending physician.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks and procedures delegated by the referring Physician within their scope of practice
- Review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports
- Perform physical examinations, interact, and counsel patients for symptom management, advanced care planning purposes, and the determination of patient goals
- Institute therapy, including drug therapies
- Accept and perform hospital consults and rounds
- Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care and management of stable and chronic illnesses under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attending physician
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Program required
- PA License required, BLS required
