Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital in Southeast Michigan is seeking a full-time Urologist to join the Department of Urology.

Assist in meeting operational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals through timely completion of competencies and annual mandatories.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor the medical needs of patients.
  • Provide quality medical services in a cost-effective manner, ensuring coverage of caseload at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with patients’ families, referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and other hospital departments regarding patient care plans, including updates within 24 hours of admission, major condition changes, and prior to discharge.
  • Document medical services in patient records consistent with hospital, payor, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend coverage as required by the Department.
  • Engage in value-based reimbursement programs and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA), and peer review activities.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Support ongoing process improvement activities, including clinical paths and related initiatives.
  • Support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, assessing clinical safety and efficacy data in accordance with Research Institute policies.
  • Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship to fellows, residents, APPs (e.g., physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses), students, and others, including meaningful participation with affiliated medical schools.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Urology
  • Unrestricted Michigan medical license
  • Unrestricted DEA license

About the Facility

Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 330-bed facility with Level II trauma status. It serves as a teaching hospital for Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and offers 15 accredited residency and fellowship programs with 174 residents and fellows. The hospital provides high-quality, patient- and family-centered care in specialties such as orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, women’s services, oncology, and surgical services.

Farmington Hills is the second-largest city in Oakland County, part of the upscale suburbs of Metropolitan Detroit, and is located about 20 miles northeast of Ann Arbor. With a population of 83,562, it offers a dense suburban feel, highly rated public schools, numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.
