Physician-Teleneurology/Telestroke
About the Role
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology at West Virginia University School of Medicine are seeking Teleneurology/Telestroke neurologists for our Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center. Ranks include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. Candidates for these roles will work remotely and function as faculty in the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI). The RNI is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer's disease.
Responsibilities
- Practice in the areas of neurology and vascular neurology
- Provide weekly coverage from 5:00pm to 8:00am
- Provide 24-hour weekend coverage from 8:00am Friday to 8:00am Monday
- Provide excellent patient care
- Opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Ample opportunities for research
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible for state medical licensure
- Completed a neurology residency program
- Completed a vascular neurology fellowship program
- Board certified/eligible in neurology and vascular neurology
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
