About the role

The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine is recruiting neurology clinicians within the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience. The clinician-educator will support the inpatient and outpatient clinical practice in neurology within an academic setting. The incumbent will practice at UCR and/or UCR-affiliated clinical facilities in Riverside and surrounding areas. This includes UCR clinics, affiliated hospitals, including the UCR Multiple Sclerosis Program, which is designated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a comprehensive multiple sclerosis care center.

Responsibilities

  • Support the inpatient and outpatient clinical practice in neurology within an academic setting.
  • PRACTICE AT UCR AND/OR UCR-AFFILIATED CLINICAL FACILITIES IN RIVERSIDE AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
  • INCLUDE UCR CLINICS, AFFILIATED HOSPITALS, INCLUDING THE UCR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS PROGRAM, WHICH IS DESIGNATED BY THE NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY AS A COMPREHENSIVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CARE CENTER.

Requirements

  • DEGREE: Must possess an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree.
  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of practice post residency training from an accredited residency training program.
  • FELLOWSHIP TRAINING: Fellowship training (in neuroimmunology/ multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular neurology, epilepsy, or another subspeciality) is preferred but not required.

  • ABILITY TO STAY ACHIEVING NEW MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE, AND TO MAINTAIN AND INCREASE EXPERTISE AND SKILLS AS RELEVANT TO CLINICAL PRACTICE.
  • ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION AND TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH OTHERS.
  • ADVANCED COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS.
  • STRONG BACKGROUND AND SKILLS IN CLINICAL PRACTICE, CLINICAL TEACHING, AND MANAGED CARE.

Benefits

The full salary range for the Physician Specialist-Neurologist is from $118,100 - $302,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Schedule

The appointments are part-time, up to 50%.
