Physician - Section Head of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Section Head, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The successful candidate will join a team of faculty, APPs, and support staff to lead and grow this program.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program to increase the number of children being cared for at Ochsner.
• Possess proven leadership, team-building, and managerial experience.
• Drive successful program growth through physician recruiting, quality of care, financial performance, patient experience goals, and medical staff management.

Requirements

• Desirable additional training and experience in bone marrow transplant and/or stem cell transplant.
• Proven leadership, team-building, and managerial experience.
• Demonstrated track record of driving successful program growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• MD degree required.
• Board certification in Pediatrics and Hematology/Oncology preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
