Physician - Radiology (Part Time)

About the role

UAB St. Vincent’s, a part of UAB Medicine, is a long-standing provider of healthcare in Alabama. The department is seeking a Radiologist, Board Certified or Board Eligible, with skills in CT, US, MRI, PET, fluoroscopy procedures including biopsy, and basic nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
• Acts as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, based on patient, medical staff, and hospital needs.
• Participates in academic programs such as medical education and research, as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation meeting insurance company requirements and appeals all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialties, which may include on-call schedules.

Requirements

• Licensed Graduate Doctoral Physician (MD/DO) credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support (AHA) credentialed from the American Heart Association preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.

Skills

• CT, US, MRI, PET, Fluoroscopy procedures including biopsy, and basic nuclear medicine.
• Mammography and basic interventional procedures.
