About the role

Locum tenens position for Diagnostic/Interventional Radiology/Breast-only in Detroit/Commerce Township, MI. Service setting includes telehealth, inpatient, and outpatient. Coverage is clinical only, with coverage available ASAP through April 1, 2027. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic radiology interpretation for emergency department cases remotely.
• Supervise and teach radiology residents during overnight shifts.
• Utilize PACS (Sectra) and dictation software (Powerscribe) for reporting.
• Manage high volume of mixed ED cases (80‑130 per shift).
• Maintain a clean malpractice record and submit case logs as required.
• Breast‑only: on‑site coverage for screening & diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image‑guided procedures (biopsies, localizations, aspirations).
• Apply BI‑RADS and MQSA requirements; manage same‑day diagnostic workups in a fast‑paced clinic environment while collaborating with technologists, nurses, surgeons, and oncology teams.
• Demonstrate specialized skill mix: screening mammography ~45‑55% (≈35‑40 per shift), diagnostics 25‑35%, procedures 15‑25%.

Requirements

• Board certification (BC).
• Active medical license in Michigan.
• DEA waiver required for telehealth; DEA registration required for onsite work.
• BLS certification.
• No hospital privileges required; temporary privileges not available.
• Clean professional record.
• Ability to provide case logs and a current NPDB report.
• For breast‑only work, must be local to Detroit.
