About the Role

The Department of Radiology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center / Case Western Reserve University is seeking a highly motivated fellowship-trained, board certified or board eligible Cardiothoracic Imager. The selected candidate will join a state-of-the-art subspecialty Cardiothoracic Imaging section.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is a premier academic medical center located in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, with a long-standing tradition of excellence in patient care, education, and research. The Radiology department provides state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including CT, MRI, and PET/CT, to support diagnostic and treatment needs.

The University Hospitals health system performs more than 1.5 million exams per year, with 100 radiologists. The department is an active teaching program with 40 residents and 9 fellows.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a collaborative cardiac imaging program with the department of cardiology.
  • Engage in a growing cardiac MRI program utilizing 1.5 and 3T cardiac magnets, including exercise/stress MRI and adult congenital MRI.
  • Contribute to a growing lung cancer-screening program, screening 1,000 patients/month with over 10,000 enrolled patients.
  • Work with advanced imaging technologies such as coronary CTA with CT FFR, coronary artery calcium scoring, and spectral/dual energy CT.
  • Collaborate on research programs in AI for lung cancer and cardiac disease, as well as human and small animal cardiac MR research.
  • Support clinical care in a high-volume setting with over 100,000 coronary artery calcium scores performed.
  • Supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with an unrestricted license.
  • Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Imaging.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Radiology with subspecialty certification in Cardiothoracic Imaging.
  • Appointment with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine at a level commensurate with experience.
  • State of Ohio and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification.

Skills

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using EPIC (preferred).

Pay

$520,000 - $570,000 per year
