Physician (Radiology)

About the role

This position is located at Irwin Army Community Hospital, located in Fort Riley, Kansas. This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full scope of diagnostic radiology services for the radiology services.
• Provide consultation, reporting the radiologic diagnostics examination, delivering interpretation of the study and the diagnoses of x-ray to the clinician.
• Recommend and direct the care and treatment of the patient.
• Obtain consultation, provides referral, both within the department and with other medical elements.
• Provide advice, professional opinions and written technical studies and professional review upon request by the Chief, Department of Radiology in support of the various boards and committees.
• Submit diagnostic radiology reports.
• Provide training in the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology to other department physicians and medical students.
• Supervise civilian employees assigned to radiology.
• Performs Other Duties As Assigned.

Qualifications

• US Citizens
• Basic Requirement For Physician (Radiology): Degree - Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
• Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
• Requirements: Residency Training - Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Interventional Radiology, or Diagnostic Radiology, or Radiation Oncology, or Radiology) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
