Position Details

Monday to Friday
(Currently M-F, 8:00am to 4:30pm)
On-site care for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) beneficiaries
Inpatient settings
On Call Hours = Nights, Weekends, and Holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to veterans.
• Deliver care to 6 patients for an hour each or roughly 12 patients for one half-hour each; or any combination of one-hour and one-half hour appointment per day totaling 6 to 6.5
• Direct Patient Care: estimated 90%
• Scope of Care: Physicians shall be responsible for:
• Inpatient Care: All psychiatrists will be required to work in collaboration with Mental Health staff who are part-time or full time salaried by the VA for inpatient care duties
• Operating and collaborating physicians patients
• Serving 1C/1D Psychiatry Service
• Ward Patients
• Admitting and Diagnosis of patients
• Developing Treatment Plans
• Managing, including the performance of timely treatment
• Discharge/Transfer all needed medical record documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist: Active certification or eligibility required
• Valid medical license in any U.S. state
• Current and unrestricted DEA license
• BLS thru the AHA or American Red Cross
