This is an open continuous announcement and will remain open until September 30, 2026. Applications will be reviewed weekly starting June 19, 2026, with referrals made as vacancies occur.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care to veterans within the Veterans Health Administration.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Participate in academic training programs if applicable.
Requirements
- United States citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens are unavailable).
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of completion.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to eligibility for board certification in psychiatry.
Qualifications
- Applicants pending completion of training or licensure may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.
- Currently employed VA physicians who met prior qualification standards at their initial appointment are deemed qualified.
