Summary

Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), student loan payment reimbursement program. Must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive authorized.

Position Highlights & Responsibilities

- Comprehensive Primary Care: Diagnose and treat a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop patient management plans. - Multi-Disciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate within a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) including an RN care manager, LPN, clinical pharmacist, psychologists, and social workers to deliver coordinated, wrap-around care. - Education & Mentorship: Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other learners, fostering the next generation of clinicians. - Integrated Support Services: Work in a system that provides seamless access to social work, travel assistance, housing, and pharmacy services-without the hassles of pre-authorizations or multiple formularies. - Small-Clinic Feel, Large-System Resources: Choose to work at the main facility with a large academic-center feel, or one of our small community clinics. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.

Additional Requirements

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. - Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. - Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. - At least one year of experience in Primary Care. - Proficiency in spoken and written English. - Physical Requirements: Placement in this position is subject to meeting the physical requirements of this position. Pre-placement medical examination is required, along with a drug screening being required.
