Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in microsurgical and reconstructive procedures.
- Develop and expand a clinical focus in microvascular reconstruction.
- Contribute to the growth of reconstructive services through collaboration and innovation.
- Provide comprehensive reconstructive care of the upper and lower extremities, including traumatic and post-traumatic reconstruction, oncologic limb reconstruction, limb salvage and complex wound coverage, microsurgical free tissue transfer (as applicable), and nerve, tendon, and soft tissue reconstruction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in education and mentorship of residents and fellows within ACGME-accredited training programs.
- Contribute to the academic mission through case conferences, lectures, and surgical instruction.
- Participate in scholarly activity and national presentations as appropriate.
- Inpatient clinical care will take place at Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital.
- Outpatient care will be delivered at Rush specialty clinics at Rush University Medical Center and Rush North & Harlem, with access to advanced practice provider support and multidisciplinary services.
- Participate in shared call coverage within the Division of Plastic Surgery; rotation is split among the providers and averages one week every 2-3 months.
Qualifications
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Plastic Surgery residency.
- Fellowship training in Microsurgery required.
- American Board of Plastic Surgery certification or eligibility.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
- Demonstrated expertise and interest in teaching and academic development.
- Commitment to inclusive excellence in clinical and academic environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
