Key Responsibilities
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Order, perform, and interpret medical tests, and analyze records and reports to diagnose patient conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, examination results, and treatment plans.
- Explain medical procedures, test results, and treatments to patients and their families.
- Advise patients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare practitioners when needed.
- Coordinate and direct activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff. Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
