About the role
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek a Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank to join the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Responsibilities
- Practice pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine in the inpatient and outpatient settings, including primary pulmonary and multidisciplinary clinics.
- Extend outreach services via telemedicine to clinics around the state.
- Perform procedures, including the provision of bronchoscopies and the interpretation of pulmonary function testing and sleep studies.
- Be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
- Must have completed a pediatrics residency program, as well as a pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine fellowship programs.
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology, with additional board certification in Sleep Medicine.
Requirements
The growing six-clinician division is currently staffed with support from a research coordinator, a nurse coordinator, a dietician, a pharmacist, committed pediatric respiratory therapists and social work support. WVU's Mountain State Cystic Fibrosis Center is a CF-Therapeutics Development Network Center, managed within the division. The center’s respiratory data are among the best in the country. We also have an AASM accredited sleep lab and pediatric sleep disorders clinic.
