Physician - Palliative Care

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient services
• Building effective relationships with consulting physicians
• Ensuring communication and follow-up
• Creating a culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, nurses, social work, case management, pharmacy and other staff
• Maintaining the health and wellness of patients and families
• Teaching opportunities, including supervision of house staff and medical students
• Led performance measurement/quality improvement initiatives
• Participating in research projects
• Leading hospital committees
• Engaging in community outreach efforts

Requirements

• Hospice or palliative care experience required
• Administrative leadership preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
• Board-certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine required
• Current, valid and unrestricted medical license

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training as well as internal peer equity will determine rate of pay for selected candidates
