About the Role

Geisinger Eye Institute is seeking a retina medical and/or surgical specialist to join a well-established, multi-specialty practice of Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. This opportunity includes developing a program, performing research, and teaching residents in a large, tertiary referral center within the growing Geisinger system. Geisinger is a physician-led system providing comprehensive patient care to a large rural and urban population in central and northeast Pennsylvania, and is the region's largest healthcare employer.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and teach residents in Geisinger’s growing ophthalmology residency program
  • Provide medical and surgical retina care utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including OCT/OCAT, fluorescein and ICG angiography, wide-field imaging, echography, and photodynamic therapy
  • Participate in shared call (home call) within a collaborative practice environment
  • Leverage a large referral base from onsite Optometrists, local Ophthalmologists, and satellite office physicians
  • Engage in teaching, research, and initiatives to optimize patient access

  • Leadership and collaboration from a full range of dedicated specialists and subspecialists

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania
