Physician - Obstetrician / Gynecologist (OB/GYN)
Job Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible general OB/GYN for a full-time position at its community-based practice in Morehead, Kentucky. Morehead is home to the University of Kentucky Rural Physician Leadership Program (RPLP), which accepts 10 medical students annually. Students spend their first two years on the Lexington campus with the larger class, then complete their third and fourth years in Morehead under the guidance of UK community-based faculty. Saint Claire Regional Medical Center (SCRMC) serves as the inpatient training facility.

Major Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care.
- Participate in teaching activities with medical students.
- Engage in educational and community initiatives.
- Serve on hospital and university committees (strongly encouraged).
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and supervising medical students.
Job Duties
- Build a comprehensive OB/GYN clinical practice alongside three other OB/GYNs.
- Call coverage is 1 in 4 weekends and 1 in 4 weekdays.
- Teach third- and fourth-year medical students.
- The practice hosts the RPLP OB/GYN clerkship and fourth-year electives.
- Teach gynecology to University of Kentucky Family Medicine residents.
- Collaborate with UK and SCRMC to promote quality and safety in obstetrics and gynecologic surgery.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Clinical experience and strong record of demonstrated leadership is expected.

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience and enthusiasm in teaching and supervising medical students is desirable.
