Physician, Obesity Medicine - Full Time W2, Georgia (GA)
About the role
We are seeking obesity medicine physicians to provide longitudinal telehealth care for patients with obesity, and to collaborate with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians towards exceptional team-based care.
Work is remote, and schedules can be flexible. We are currently accepting applications for a FTE (40 hours per week) Obesity Medicine Physician or Endocrinologist opportunity, who are licensed in GA.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a clinical setting, focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management.
- The physician will have their own panel and will collaborate with Registered Dietitians.
- In the future, this physician role will be responsible for chart reviews and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently within the team.
- Aid in the professional development of APPs by fostering clinical growth, offering feedback, and supporting continuing education.
- Participate in team-based care initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and high-quality care.
- Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program.
Requirements
MD or DO degree with board certification; must be an American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate or board certified in Endocrinology.
Licensed to practice and prescribe legally in GA.
LOQ (Letter of Qualification) with the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) is preferred.
Credentialed with insurance payers (strong preference for multiple state licenses!)
Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
Committed to the highest quality of medical care and an evidence-based approach to obesity management.
Prior experience conducting telemedicine visits and who have a great "web-side" manner.
Prior experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
Bilingual candidates with medical fluency in Spanish are highly preferred.
