About the role

The OB Hospitalist Physician will practice in our highly regarded health system in Northern California. NorthBay Health is ideally located between the San Francisco Bay Area Region, Napa Valley and Sacramento. With an abundance of recreation and leisure options, Northern California offers residents the landscape for healthy, active living.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in a 154-bed hospital with 8-bed labor unit, 13-bed postpartum unit, and 16-bed Level 3 NICU.
  • Provide care for approximately 135 average births per month.
  • Collaborate with a collaborative team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals.
  • Use Cerner - transition to EPIC 10/2026 for EMR.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Valid and active medical license in California.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of experience preferred, though recent residency graduates will also be considered.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and general computer skills.

Compensation Structure

  • Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role.
  • Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan.
  • Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
