Physician- OB/GYN Hospitalist

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide evidence based Obstetric and Gynecologic care for patients at Watsonville Community Hospital.
• Work in a collaborative practice model with Certified Nurse Midwives and Family Medicine Physicians in Labor and Delivery.
• Provide timely consultations in the Emergency Department.
• Act as a preceptor for Family Medicine residents rotating in the department.
• Participate in quality improvement committees and hospital governance.
• Participate in continuing education programs to remain current on professional development and practices and to maintain California licensure.
• Maintain a valid professional license, updated CPR certificate and valid California driver’s license.

Requirements

• Working knowledge: of the principles, practices, and procedures used in obstetrics and gynecology to detect, diagnose, and treat health problems in a culturally sensitive manner that includes informed consent and shared decision making.
• Ability to: communicate effectively and respectfully with people from different racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and lifestyles, demonstrating a knowledge of and sensitivity to their needs.
• Valid California OB/GYN Physician's and Surgeon's license.
• Board certified (or Board eligible) in OB/GYN.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain/maintain hospital admitting privileges at Watsonville Community Hospital.

Desirable Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English.

Pay

Salary: $354,106.74 - $390,986.29 /year
