About Meritus Neurology
We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a broad spectrum of neurological disorders. As a Primary Stroke Center, we deliver high-quality, time-sensitive care for acute cerebrovascular events while managing chronic and progressive conditions. Our team provides expert care for:
- Stroke and cerebrovascular disease
- Epilepsy and seizure disorders
- Multiple sclerosis and demyelinating disorders
- Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
- Headaches and migraine syndromes
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Cognitive disorders and dementia
What You’ll Do as a Neurologist at Meritus Health, you’ll:
- Perform and interpret detailed neurological examinations and diagnostic testing
- Order and review imaging studies (MRI, CT) and electrodiagnostic tests (EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies)
- Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide follow-up care and long-term disease management
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
- Participate in on-call coverage as required
- Collaborate closely with primary care physicians, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school; completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency required.
- Experience: Board certification or eligibility in Neurology required. Experience in stroke care and inpatient/outpatient neurology preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Active Maryland medical license (or eligibility to obtain). Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) certification required.
