Physician, Nephrologists
Job Duties
Diagnose and treat disease conditions involving the kidneys and provide renal replacement therapy to patients with acute and chronic renal failure in the form of peritoneal and hemodialysis.
Diagnose and treat the entire realm of kidney disease.
In both the inpatient and outpatient settings, evaluate, diagnose, treat, monitor and manage the pre- and post-transplant care of kidney transplant patients.
Order and execute tests, analyses and diagnostic images of patients with kidney conditions.
Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment, analyzing results, diagnosing condition, administering and prescribing treatment regimen, including dialysis.
Refer patients to other specialists as indicated.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana.
- Completion of a nephrology fellowship.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.
