Responsibilities
- Provide clinical coverage for the NICU, newborn nursery, OR, etc.
- Manage and stabilize premature and critically ill newborns.
- Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation.
- Collaborate closely with neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatric subspecialists, and other members of the care team.
- Provide consultations for pediatricians, surgeons, and obstetricians.
- Supervise hospitalists.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies and evidence-based neonatal care standards.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up needs.
- Availability on-site within 30 minutes, when on-call, for clinical duties.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine within 2 years of onset of employment
- Valid New Jersey medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- DEA & NJ CDS registrations
- AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification
