About the Role

A unique opportunity for an experienced urologist seeking balance, flexibility, and meaningful clinical impact. This position is part of an innovative urology practice model that offers a well‑defined schedule, focused clinical responsibilities, and the ability to remain engaged in patient care without the demands of a traditional full‑time practice. It is ideally suited for an established urologist who values schedule predictability, enjoys operative and clinical care, and wants to work with a collaborative team. Physicians with locums experience, regional ties, or an interest in gradually transitioning toward retirement may find this role particularly attractive.

Practice Structure

Every‑Other‑Week Coverage Model. During the scheduled coverage week, physicians have a dedicated Friday operating room block, Monday outpatient clinic, and weekend call coverage with limited on‑site requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated Friday operating room block with approximately 10 hours of OR time.
  • Monday outpatient clinic with approximately 8 hours of patient care after the weekend of call.
  • Weekend call coverage with an associated trauma response expectation of approximately 60 minutes.
  • Defined and limited on‑site weekend requirements during assigned coverage weekends.

Ideal Candidate

  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible urologist.
  • Comfortable providing general urology care and weekend call coverage.
  • Values a predictable and lower‑volume practice model.
  • Enjoys contributing to an established, collaborative department.
  • Interested in a structured three‑year opportunity with potential for future reassessment and continuation.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is not a traditional practice‑building position. It is a focused, thoughtfully designed role that allows an experienced physician to make a meaningful contribution through operative care, clinic continuity, and weekend coverage support. The position provides consistent OR access, a defined schedule, and a clear scope of responsibility while helping create a sustainable care model for both patients and providers. Physicians gain reduced administrative burden, greater work‑life balance, and the chance to remain active in practice while enjoying increased flexibility and predictability.
