About the role

SSM Health Davis Duehr Dean Eye Care is seeking a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist for its clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. You will practice full-scope ophthalmology with all surgical procedures performed at the nearby Sun Prairie Outpatient Center — a modern facility equipped with dedicated ophthalmic surgical suites. You will serve as the primary comprehensive ophthalmologist at the Verona location once it opens, supported by Davis Duehr Dean's extensive group of eye care providers across the region.

The practice offers an immediate patient base and a robust referral system built over decades. Clinics are staffed with highly trained ophthalmic technicians, certified opticians, and a full administrative team, plus an on-site optical shop for convenient patient eyewear services. Opportunities include participation in outreach clinics in surrounding communities to expand care to underserved areas, and engagement in clinical research with organizational support for trials and studies.

Responsibilities

• Practice full-scope comprehensive ophthalmology
• Perform surgical procedures at the Sun Prairie Outpatient Center
• Serve as the primary comprehensive ophthalmologist at the Verona clinic upon opening
• Participate in outreach clinics in surrounding communities
• Engage in clinical research and trials (optional, with organizational support)
• Collaborate with subspecialty colleagues for seamless patient referrals

Requirements

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Ophthalmology
• Passion for comprehensive eye care
• Interest in building a practice in a new location with the backing of an established eye institute
