Responsibilities
- Manages ambulatory Internal Medicine primary care medical practice
- Provides consultation and expert medical opinion to other Adult Medicine providers
- Adheres to Esperanza Health Center’s Productivity Standard
- Maintains and promotes patient satisfaction
- Participates in Quality Improvement activities
- P practices evidence-based, cost-effective primary care in a team-based model
- Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals
- Prepares, implements, and documents age specific preventative health schedules
- Buils and maintains an Internal Medicine medical practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, in-patient management and other methods that assure continuity of care
- Maintains clinical competency through regular Continuing Medical Education
- Maintains liaison with any Partner Hospitals’ medical staff and ambulatory care departments
- Takes call for Esperanza Health Center patients
- Plays a role in educating and training medical and healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish, required
- Graduate of an Accredited Medical School
- Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program in Internal Medicine
- Board certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
