Responsibilities

  • Manages ambulatory Internal Medicine primary care medical practice
  • Provides consultation and expert medical opinion to other Adult Medicine providers
  • Adheres to Esperanza Health Center’s Productivity Standard
  • Maintains and promotes patient satisfaction
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities
  • P practices evidence-based, cost-effective primary care in a team-based model
  • Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals
  • Prepares, implements, and documents age specific preventative health schedules
  • Buils and maintains an Internal Medicine medical practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, in-patient management and other methods that assure continuity of care
  • Maintains clinical competency through regular Continuing Medical Education
  • Maintains liaison with any Partner Hospitals’ medical staff and ambulatory care departments
  • Takes call for Esperanza Health Center patients
  • Plays a role in educating and training medical and healthcare professionals

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, required
  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical School
  • Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program in Internal Medicine
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
