Physician, Gastroenterology, Napa (Full Time)
About the role
This position supports NorthBay Health's Gastroenterology services in the Napa, CA region. The role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for digestive health disorders, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, and colorectal conditions
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy; advanced procedures (e.g., ERCP, EUS) if trained
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and pathology results
- Maintain patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary
- Provide preventive care, including colorectal cancer screening and patient education on digestive health
- Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocols, and hospital committees
- Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Professionals (APPs) to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California
- MD or DO
- DEA Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship program
- Demonstrated expertise in endoscopic procedures and gastrointestinal disease management
- Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment
Qualifications
