Physician-Gastroenterology Hospitalist, Portland, ME

About the role

MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, the largest teaching hospital in Maine, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to serve as a GI Hospitalist for the inpatient GI consult service.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI consultative service during 26 weeks (Monday‑Friday) of the year.
• Perform general endoscopy procedures.
• Staff consults with GI advanced practice providers and GI fellows.
• Provide clinical instruction to GI fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students from the University of New England and Tufts University.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Availability for 26 weeks of inpatient service and 4 weekends of call coverage annually.

Schedule

26 weeks of inpatient GI consult service (Monday‑Friday) and 4 weekends of call coverage per year.
