Physician - Gastroenterology (Advanced)
Position Highlights
Specialized Advanced GI role focused on ERCP and EUS
Launch and expand EUS services while growing ERCP coverage
Balanced schedule: 2.5 days clinic + 2.5 days procedures/OR/ASC
Dedicated Advanced GI call rotation (separate from general GI call)
Flexible scheduling options (including 4-day workweek)
Clinical Practice
This advanced role focuses on complex gastroenterology procedures and care:
Advanced Procedural Services: ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
Advanced endoscopy in hospital, ASC, and OR settings
Complex GI interventions and cancer staging
Outpatient & Inpatient Services:
2.5 days per week in outpatient clinic
Inpatient consults and procedures
Collaboration with strong existing general GI team
Patient Population
Treat adult patients requiring advanced GI care, including:
Pancreaticobiliary diseases
Complex bile duct and pancreatic disorders
GI malignancies (staging and management)
Therapeutic interventions for strictures, stones, and leaks
Difficult-to-manage esophageal, gastric, and colonic conditions
Typical Clinical Volume
High procedural demand with immediate ramp-up potential
Mix of advanced procedures, clinic visits, and inpatient consults
Strong referral base from general GI and community providers
Academic & Faculty Role
Teaching opportunities with the upcoming Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (launching Summer 2025)
Participation in new residency programs under development
Clinical education, lectures, and program development potential
Schedule & Call
Dedicated Advanced GI call rotation (separate from general GI)
