Alliance Orthopedics is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate Physician Extender to join our dynamic, fast-growing multidisciplinary practice. Our Physician Extenders work side-by-side with our medical team, serving as integral members of our sports medicine team and medical liaisons to our conservative care team. This role thrives on collaboration, with medical and conservative care teams working hand in hand to improve patient outcomes. On-the-job training is provided. A valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey is required.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport and relationships with patients, understanding their goals.
• Coordinate medical care, including obtaining clinical history and performing preliminary assessments/evaluations.
• Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, and care plans.
• Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Serve as a compassionate liaison between the physician and patient, providing support and encouragement to patients and their families.
• Conduct post-procedure next-day follow-ups.
• Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties.
• Collaborate with all healthcare disciplines to help patients achieve better outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License (required).
• Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
• Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, with a compassionate approach to patients from all walks of life.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Willingness to challenge patients, team members, and yourself.

Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 / year
