Physician Extender

About the Role

Alliance Orthopedics is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate Physician Extender to join our dynamic, fast-growing multidisciplinary practice. As a key member of our sports medicine team, you will work side-by-side with medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, pain management physicians, and our conservative care team of chiropractors, physical therapists, clinical athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and exercise physiologists. This role thrives on collaboration, eliminating barriers, improving communication, and accelerating recovery timelines. On-the-job training is provided.

Must possess a valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey to be considered for the role.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport and relationships with patients, understanding their goals.
• Coordinate medical care, including obtaining clinical history and performing preliminary assessments/evaluations.
• Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, and care plans.
• Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Serve as a compassionate liaison between the physician and patient, providing support and encouragement to patients and their families.
• Conduct post-procedure next-day follow-ups.
• Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties.
• Collaborate with all healthcare disciplines to help patients achieve meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License REQUIRED.
• Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
• Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, with a compassionate approach to patients from all walks of life.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Willingness to challenge patients, team members, and yourself in a collaborative environment.

Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 / year
