About the Role

Alliance Orthopedics is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate Physician Extender to join our dynamic, fast-growing multidisciplinary practice. As a key member of our sports medicine team, you will work side-by-side with medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, and pain management physicians. This role also serves as a medical liaison to our conservative care team, including chiropractors, physical therapists, clinical athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and exercise physiologists. Our collaborative approach ensures medical and conservative care teams work hand-in-hand to improve communication and accelerate patient recovery. On-the-job training is provided. A valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey is required.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and relationships with patients, understanding their goals.
  • Coordinate medical care, including obtaining clinical history and performing preliminary assessments/evaluations.
  • Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, care plans, and other documentation.
  • Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Serve as a compassionate liaison between physicians and patients, providing support and encouragement to patients and their families.
  • Conduct post-procedure next-day follow-ups.
  • Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties.
  • Collaborate with all healthcare disciplines to help patients achieve optimal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License (required).
  • Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
  • Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, with a compassionate approach to patients from all walks of life.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
  • Willingness to challenge patients, team members, and yourself in a collaborative environment.

Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 / year
